Following my recent post here regarding your censor filter altering Arse to read Elbow,
there is another example this morning of a crossword clue being 'amended' thereby making the clue insoluble!
The clue from the Independent contained the anagram indicator Ba$*** ( i've put it like this because it would probably be changed). Your 'censor' altered this to read 'Little Bustard' thereby making the clue gibberish!

If a clue is printed in a National newspaper why does your filtering system change it to something nonsensical. I can understand censorship in Chatterbank for instance but in
Crosswords! Is it not possible to exempt Q&P in some way and if any 'bad words' do appear from a rogue poster then they will be reported by the Q&P regulars & removed?

To a serious crossword solver the precise wording of a clue is all important.

Well my attempt to get round the censor failed but, Mr Editor, you know the word I mean
which in the puzzle solving world means 'false or not genuine' - an anagram indicator.
cruciverbalists should just wash their mouths out with soap and water.
Fixed, up to a point. There will be bastards everywhere from now on.

All the best,

Spare Ed
hehehe

(yes im THAT childish)
nothing new on AB, then...
btw, a friend of mine just tried to write on a blog that she liked daffodils but she used the shortened form. It appeared as da***.
For Funks Sake jno, that is not a problem here.
Oh yes it is (beginning to sound like a pantomime)

I simply typed the three missing letters, not the whole phrase and now it looks like I was trying to swear.
I imagine she would have been even more put out if her favourite flowers appeared as daforfunkssake
