MM Links Solutions May 2010 [Week 3]

With “Sir Robin of Linksley” astounding his readers yet again ~ relating tales of a life of seclusion and danger ~ he chose the following links:

Wild CHILD
Wood C*CK (male bird!)
FOSSIL Fuel
NERVOUS Wreck

As gen2 said, “Ship Wreck” was just too obvious! Notice my ham-fisted way in reporting the second link word. I don’t wish to fall foul (or fowl) of the automatic AB obscenity filter!

The early birds were more successful than last week with beejay declaring himself a WILD CHILD followed by Dinkypuzzled (claiming to be a NERVOUS WRECK) and tearinghair burning up FOSSIL FUEL each entitled to their TWO POINTS. With only the first five entrants within the first minute of play, no fewer than three link words had been spotted.

There were another 14 entries to come in before the clock denied further bonuses. Of these, Christiana (another Wild Child) and lysander & grannydi (two Fossil Fuelers) picked up Two Points. However, these were all eclipsed by the FOUR POINTS snatched by miss meg and pauline with Fossil Fuel and Nervous Wreck! These two wre the stars of this third round and so will share the accolade of JOINT HOT SHOTS OF THE WEEK.

*** The crowds go wild and yell “Encore” ***

The game ticked along with kawakiri standing out from the crowd with a double whammy before (once again) mirandasmum scored another late goal with WOOD C*CK (TWO POINTS for this ManU supporter). This is becoming a habit! However, in extra time regular, ulysses, picked up the final Two Points for yet another double whammy! Well done all!

It is rare indeed when either of the Ont-ices come up with a correct answer in the MM links. However, Mrs. O came up with two this week: Fossil fuel and Nervous Wreck, but no points have been awarded in the League Table.
