For this final week, “Lady Jan” did “Spring into Action” and chose as her link words:

KITCHEN Garden
Centre PARKS/PARCS
Hanging AROUND
Basket BALL

On the down side, points proved as rare as Rocking Horse droppings! On the up side, Jan’s heroic session of planting prompted me to get some bedding plants in! Now all I need is some decent weather.

Firstly, I must say that you all looked resplendent with your new avatars! Some were particularly appropriate ~ such as that of gen2, Dinkypuzzled, pauline (of the dragonfly) and kettledrum! Others were the stuff of nightmares!

The game had a very promising start with roslyn first off the blocks with KITCHEN GARDEN for TWO POINTS closely followed by miss meg playing BASKET BALL (also scoring TWO POINTS). The next 27 entrants came and went with only cliffyg, barb7771 & x-ray picking up single points. Then came teacher1 HANGING AROUND waiting to pick up his TWO POINTS!

He was immediately followed with a brilliant effort by regward who offered up CENTRE PARKS and Basket Ball for an impressive THREE POINTS to top this week’s list of scorers and qualify as HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK. However, this week there are greater honours to bestow.

Before the game closed, kettledrum and dd470 picked up precious points and Magyar produced a double whammy! In fact, Magyar was the only player to score on every round this month, but the total points scored reached a meagre 5 (not quite enough).

The top of the League Table after this final week is:

NINE POINTS: paulineward
EIGHT POINTS: beejay1124
SEVEN POINTS: Aquagility
SIX POINTS: centrino, mirandasmum & miss meg
FIVE POINTS: Magyar, regward, teacher1 & Strix

I am now going to consider the options over a plate of spaghetti and a bottle of Shiraz!
"stuff of nightmares"??? WHAT or WHOM could you possibly be referring to?

Anyway, Jan you caught a lot of us on the hop there!!

Even I think I would rather be weeding in a Kitchen Garden than hanging around in Centre Parcs waiting for a game of Basket Ball. (What a truly awful thought!).

But thank you Jan for an entertaining month.
Well done Pauline, and thanks crofter. ;o)
Snap Strix. lol
Thanks crofter for steering me to the end of the month
well done to both Pauline and hubby reg (hot shot no less) and him just back from an extended holiday!!!!!
all the best to whoever takes over I look forward to trying to guess the links again
well done everyone
jan
Please don't take this as sour grapes at all because I am fairly new to MM Links and so still learning, but I am surprised to see Centre Parcs - isn't that a trade name? are we allowed to do that? I could have put Kitchen Magic as an answer! - what's the rule please, is anything allowed if the setter says so? Thank you!
never gave it a thought boxtops
no doubt crofter will sort it out for us
I saw lots of answers that fitted better than my own
wish I had thought of them (lol)
thanks Jan and crofter
well done pauline
congratulations Roslyn and all other winners - a big fat zero for me
sorry to say - by the way Roslyn I also drew a zero with the Avatar
business - could not get anywhere with them - they did not like
my AB address or password and it got beyond me (which wasnt very
difficult) - think I will have to wait until it gets easier
Have a good week
J
Apologies, I forgot to say thank you to crofter for his efforts and to Pauline on her success.

HOWEVER I am keeping my powder dry until I discover if that particular Dragon is flying with the clues in May!!

yours,
A sweet little Maybug (a.k.a. ...No, I won't go there!!!!)
Thank you jan and crofter, very pleased to get 1 right this week.
Well done Pauline.
See you all next week.
Crofter, enjoy the Shiraz!!
rockford, re the password, most of us have had to put any old password in to get the avatar, trying to use the AB one told most of us "already taken" so we made up another one. It does work - eventually!

I have taken the best part of an hour, but the choice was obvious. Why the delay? Well, Mrs Crofter has perfected the timing of our Sunday evening meal at 7.15pm precisely (after AB) and the least I can do is to eat the meal while it is still hot!

Talking about being hot ~ both Pauline & beejay are previous MM Link Champions, but (as far as my memory serves me) Aquagility has been close several times ~ never the Chosen One! So, straight from the musical “Hair”, this is “The Dawning of the Age of Aquagility”. I therefore have great pleasure in inviting Aquagility to accept the MM Links Crown and set the Links to be predicted throughout the month of May!

For the present, this is crofter signing off!
See you all next week: Same time ~ Same place

Until then: HAPPY LINKING!

:o)

PS boxtops, Re Centre Parcs: I try not to interfere with the choice of the setter, but I take your point. I keep in mind that not every entrant is from the UK, however one dodgy link in 16 shouldn't make all that difference. I hope this is OK.
Aq, Congrats on being the setter of the Links for May. BUT, please, don't listen to crofter's references to the "musical" Hair.

The idea of you pondering your links and referencing that song in Hair "Where do I go?" at which point the cast disrobed might be too exciting for your female fans on this site if you were so to do!!
Well there's another big fat zero for me- is the free fall club in MM or KM? because I think I might just be a member!
Many thanks Jan and crofter for all your hard work.
Thanks Jan and Crofter.

Congratulations to Pauline and Aquagility. Hopefully I'll climb higher than the bottom rung on the rigging next month.
Wasn't it lucky that I hadn't noticed that Teacher was hanging around too? Otherwise it would have bee 0 points for me again! Thanks Jan for some interesting links, and Crofter for keeping us in order.
Always the bridesmaid but never the bride, eh? But first I need to congratulate Jan on an interesting month, Pauline and Reg, and the other winners on their success. And, of course, the ever-patient Crofter.
As to next month, it would be churilsh to drop the baton. But I shall have to rely on Crofter to be my guide and tutor. That way, if we have a really boring month, it will all be his fault!
First, Aq, does your courtesy flag suggest we are in for a month of Turkish Delights??!!
