In the film Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events, what instrument does Billy Connelly's character Dr Montgomery Montgomery play? It looks like a zither, but I'm not sure that it is.

I'm pretty sure it was a zither, and given Billy's proficiency on the banjo, he probably played it himself too!
