I am naturally a red head, but ages an agesss ago when i was around 13 i got loads of highlights to turn it blonde, then when i was around 15 when to dark brown, ever since then i have died it monthly a number 4 dark brown. Just recently I died it a redish colour which just died my alredi red roots even redder and left the rest of my hair dark brown. I want to get rid of all this colour and just start again. Because ive died my hair so much, would getting the colour stripped out of my hair be a stupid idea? my hair means the world to me! i do use straightners everyday and such, but i dont want to damage it, but i just want to have nice hair again :( any advice? xxx

Hi

hopefully my answer in this previously answered question should help you make the decision:

The reason why the colour on your roots worked and not on the mid lengths and ends is because tint will not 'lift' tint. By that i mean it's not like painting a wall where you can just paint over paint. The existing colour on the hair has to be taken into account. And in the case where the colour id dark, it wont lighten in the slightest by applying another tint over it!!

This is defiantly a job for the professionals though!!
Hope this helps
Re-processing processed (colored) hair will not harm the hair and the texture will remain the same.

The dark tone needs to be stripped out for a lighter shade (6-10 Majirel). A higher volume peroxide is necessary - this is only available to salons & not for public retail. Once the dark tone is stripped the choice tone is applied. It's an easy process 'to the prof' so dont worry. Use a good colorist - T&G trained.
im a natural red head and occasionly have dyed it and wanted to go back to my own lovely colour , i got it stripped its an easy process at the hairdressers and as long as u dont make a habit of it it will be fine x
