What am I missing? Whenever one of you good people out there answer one of my questions and put a link to somewhere and I activate the link...nothing happens...I'm still where I am. So what is my pc system missing. I use Windows XP Professional SP3, but also have a JAWS screen reader - though this usually works on links...but elsewhere. Ta Muchly.

Ac - he can't open links, so he can neither see nor hear it.

Can you summarise for him and point him in the right direction?
Ac's link is just to windows update...

Woodelf, Click start then programs and select windows update and then select express on the page that comes up.

I assume AC knows something I don't that updating windows will fix on this one.
Thanks, Chuck.
I was in a bit of a rush last night

not heard back from the elf with a woody

Chuck ... no devine inspiration ... part devilment
(answering a link prob with a link) ... part wondering if woody can follow a simple link ...
but as you know some of the links posted here get censored ... cause they have elaborate strings of random letters which spell rude words ... (fnah).

there has been an update recently which causes a memory leak for users looking at loads of pikkies (rude or not) which makes the IE window go black eventually - but can freeze the page

and there was one a few weeks ago which terminated page downloads before they became active ... (yellow triangle - error on page - or done - or done with errors)

woody doesn't say if they are here or where ever ... so back to him/her for a couple of examples please.

in the meantime back to first principles ....

if still can't follow link after updating

download http://portableapps.com/news/2009-02-04_-_fire fox_portable_3.0.6

and see if the same page's links load then

Hi Ac, this is woody and he can follow a simple link...he?i can also spell divine. Chuck, I tried your suggestion with the Express in Windows Update, but still can't activate links from answerbank site...though I can from other sites. I might give Ac's other solution of downloads a try or just not bother and take note of links provided and check them out from source...or should that be sauce Ac?...smile - and stop laughin' Ethel...smile.
hadn't realizzzed it was a spellink bee
I thought the link thing was the problem ... silly me wrong again

if you'd read the rest of the reply rather than marking it
you'd have seen why I wanted to know about the simple link ... instead of starting a hissy

"he" can also read
>>this is woody and he can follow a simple link...he?

you not so good at reading ... actually said
>>>>>so back to him/her

what's sauce for the goose eh?
