If my other answers are right, I'm just stuck on this last clue.

9d Cardinal not very experienced (4) S?EN

Is it SIEN - a variation of Scion ? If so where does the cardinal part come in ?

Thanks in advance SP

Of Course !

Thank you - I used my searchable Chambers CD-Rom to search for definitions including the word cardinal - which flagged up cardinal numbers amongst other words - but I just didn't twig !

Thanks again.
