MM Links Solutions September 2007 [Week 2]

This is the second week in the reign of the Crown Jools and I can now reveal that our bejooled setter chose the following links.

loss ADJUSTER
new BROOM
clothes HORSE



Before you fast forward now to the results below, please take heed of my Sunday Sermon:
In the beginning was the word, and the word was 9 letters long thus wasting that entry for two people. In fact this week contained a whole bunch of errors, all keenly spotted and flagged up by Fox Lee but alas, not amended by all concerned. Please take care in future weeks - minimum 4 letters, maximum 8 letters.

Whatever was going on in the shrubbery Friday night surely honed their grey cells to perfection. The first 12 entrants to emerge on Saturday morning all scored ponts - 4 of them with double hits! In fact 25 of you (over half the entrants) scored points this week but some were harder to get than others.

First to fall was CLOTHES HORSE guessed immediately by bridgenut and followed closely by 9 others fordward, Christiana, ulysses100, freebi 2, paulineward, Grenmus, jan1956, cliffyg & rogerr: all qualifying for the bonus point under the 2-minute rule. The next link to fall was LOSS ADJUSTER when entrant number 4, ulysses100, chose it (along with CLOTHES HORSE for a total of 4 points). Three others Dinkypuzzled, paulineward & Grenmus were within two minutes to pick up the bonus point on this one.

The third link only lasted until 9:05 when entrant #11, rogerr guessed NEW BROOM, which along with CLOTHES HORSE gained her 4 points.

But what about the 4th link? - that had to wait until the night-shift in the shape of kettledrum came on duty and at 8:20 pm selected WEIGHT LIFTER.

7 players scored double hits this week, but I declare kettledrum to be "Hot Shot of the Week" for finally tracking down that elusive last link.

The standings after week 2 are therefore:

Out in front on 6 Points is former champion rogerr.

The chasing pack on 4 points comprises:
Grenmus, paulineward & ulysses100

Just behind them on 3 points are:
Alibobs, Elspeth & FoxLee

17 players then form the body of the kirk on 2 points with 10 more bringing up the rear on 1 point



Last week's newcomer, Murielmci was straight in there this week with 2 points showing how it should be done.

2 is not bad for a newbie! And on the same day that I surpassed myself by climbing 4 peaks in the Bennachie Range - Mither Tap was a killer and I had to take the summit on my knees as the wind was fearsome! See you all next week.
