I recently bought an R Reg Ford Fiesta. It is a burgandy colour, but I need to find the EXACT colour name for it. Anyone know how? Is it anything to do with the marking number under the bonnet?!?

I know that the burgundy colour used on later Fiestas (and Focuses) is called 'Pepper Red', so chances are the colour is the same for your model. I also know that Halfords sell this exact colour paint, called the same name, especially for Ford models. I'm stating the obvious, but ask a Ford dealer and they will be able to tell you for definite.
you could also log into RAC 'my car' at www.rac.co.uk - type in your registration number and it should come up with the colour and other useful details about the car. Alternatively, ask a car sprayer!
I agree with Miss Zippy. My Mondeo is the 'burgundy' colour, as was my Mums Escort. Pepper Red (why not just call it mauve?) is the colour.
My fiat uno has a paint code which is on a plate under the tailgate. Ask your local Ford dealer where to find the paint code. dont forget that sunlight can fade a cars paint so you may need to T-Cut the car in order to get an exact match and lastly our local car parts store has a paint matching service so one near you should probably do the same.
Some times on the registration document it gives the exact colour rather than just 'red'
If you've not solved this already - the paint code number is next to the VIN (long reg. number) on the registration plate - can be found either under the bonnet - easy to spot, big metal plate with loads of info on - also sometimes found under the carpet on the drivers side door well.
