I also need help with 26 ac (5) 'Tend to hold against back'

I have c?r?? and can only think of care but can't see why or what final letter can be.  thanks in advance if you can help.

Thanks for both of those. I'm concerned that 26 is nurse (can't see the hack part when parsed?) and also because I had the first letter as C from 'gobsmacked' for 14 dn. What is the answer to that then? I thought it parsed well - go = try, smack = heroin and bed = sack.

What else could 14 be?
