Anyone recognise this Lake District Fell summit - probably a Wainwright? (where the picture was taken from is what they want).

Contest is Cumbria & Lakeland Walker magazine's 'Peaky Finder' competition that ends 27 May.

Any help appreciated! Apologies if the image is a little out of focus!

Thanks all!!

I'd been seriously looking at both High Spy and High Bakestones - looked similar in some images but backdrop was all wrong.

Do you use an image finding website?

Question Author

No I don't know any - If I don't recognise from memory or my own photo's, I use various walking websites, Wainwright and summit/cairn websites to look for something similar. If I find candidates looking similar then I Google to confirm or discount. If you know any picture recognition sites other than Google then please advise (I find Google just throws up generic mountain images that are nothing to do with the image used).

^^^ I used Google Images (and a bit of patience) to find the exact image match that I linked to in my first post above.

My back-up reverse image searching site is TinEye:
https://tineye.com/

I take a screenshot of the image and then Google "image finder".

I upload the image to one of the hits and see what it comes up with.

If there's nothing definite, I'll try the next hit and so on.

It doesn't work every time but it does, a good deal of the time.
