What on earth is he thinking? He says if he receives a FPN he'll resign. Farewell then his 'vision' for Britain. But if he is not served with a FPN he'll carry on. So how does this ridiculous stunt further Labour prospects?

I guess he realises that there are many who could perform leader of the opposition equally well on his party. So offering to go isn't such a big deal. Whereas the government has the issue that those able to do as well as Boris as PM have steadfastly avoided tossing their hat into the ring, and/or aren't presently an elected MP.

Those able to do as well as Johnson as PM have already gained fame and infamy. Their surnames are Wisdom, Drake and Chaplin.
Following Johnson and making a fist of it is currently the easiest job in politics.
You just have to tell the truth when pressed and be of reasonably good character.
Oh and don’t have Russians as part of your inner circle.

I am minded to agree with some opinions - that Starmer sees the way the wind is blowing.
It's pretty clear that he is not going to be the leader who takes Labour into the next election.
This may be a way of him salvaging what's left of what ever was once any dignity he ever had, and walking off into the sunset.

I’ve no idea what his vision for Britain was.
Whatever it was or is it has to be better than the worst cost of living crisis for 70 years, a government administration mired in law-breaking and tax avoidance, questionable links with Russians, astronomical fuel and utility bill costs and a dire economic growth forecast, in fact it’s expected to shrink very shortly. Is this really what we were expecting from the Johnson cabinet? If any of that is incorrect I’m more than happy for you to point out where I’m mistaken.

DH, how odd. I wonder why you support him if you’ve no idea what his vision for Britain was? In fairness to you though I doubt anyone else has any idea either … probably because he’s spent his whole time as leader trashing Boris. Starmer has never actually said anything memorable - except when he admitted that he doesn’t know the difference between male and female. I imagine a lot of people will remember that - especially women.
