I know its early - but having a session of completing and posting quizzes. I just need 3 to finish this one.

Answers are 2 words that start S and A

23 A weapon that can be carried by a person

24 Something to be relied on in an emergency

25 Where you find food, fuel, toilets on the road
I thought this was Motorway Services - but that doesn't fit the letters. Is Service Area a term used?

Good alternative The Winner.

Still not decided if Smoke Alarm is right.
'Something to be relied on in an emergency', when given as (say) a crossword clue is usually 'standby' but that then requires something to be added onto the end of it for the 'a' part.

'Standby alternative', perhaps???
I like 'smoke alarm' though!
I agree with Buenchico. I, too, would have said "A standby" except the letters are the wrong way round. Also, it's not a "thing".
So "smoke alarm" now sounds much better.
24 sheet anchor?
that's another excellent alternative mallyh.

Had to look that up!

Normally this quiz has single answers - but this one has 2 options for 23, and now a few for 24!
I once set a local quiz, and when the sheets started coming back in, I realised there was more than one correct answer for one of the questions...... it happens.
