Woooo, blimey. that's a good one, is she on any type of drugs ?
Have a strong nightcap, curl up in bed with a hottie and a book. Sleep well. Happy new year

No but she has dementia... And getting stranger by the day
Whoa! Have you asked her what she's going on about?
rowanwitchQuestion AuthorNo but she has dementia

Right I see, Rowan. Expect the unexpected then.
Go with the flow and nod a lot.

At least she is not threatening to hit me, tonight at least. I have to laugh or I would be curled up in a corner ... Only another week to go before I can take her home...
Thats the way to go, Mamya. Learned that technique with my late ( lovely ) aunt.
Ah right, she's actually staying with you then, Rowan. Dunno why but I thought it must have a telephone convo.
Some of the ones Mr F came out with were pretty odd too.
I had a boyfriend that lived in the lift in our bedroom. (The wardrobe)
The fire brigade were firing water jets at the bedroom window from the garden. (The blinds)
My boyfriend (imaginary I hasten to add) left his cycle in the kitchen.
(His wheelchair)
and on and on it went. I feel for you Rowan.

She came on 19 th Dec my sister needed a break although she doesn't live with mum, just pops in every other day with shopping etc, and helps with cleaning and shopping. She has mum over for an afternoon a week. At least she has her husband to share the burden. I haven't slept properly since she arrived, and I spend my time making tea and switching lights off.
Poor lady. Love her while you can, Rowan.
There is no comparison with popping in daily, and being there 24/7 with no other support.
It's no use trying to explain anything, or put them right. Easier in the long run to agree, though it's very very hurtful at times.
She loved you. Ignore the ramblings. It's hard - but I've been without my mum for so long that I can say please enjoy her, odd or not, hard or not, whilst you can. Happy New Year.
Your sister has had a decent break from it, Rowan. It was my cousin ( my aunts daughter ) and my self that dealt with my aunt, sometimes it was heart breaking but if we didn't do it who would.

I find it so difficult as we have fought most of my adult life, I am now in my 60s and apparently I must forgive her for how she treated me in the past. I am all out of forgiveness and caring and all I can wish for her is what she has wished for herself all her life since my father died almost 62 years ago
Under those conditions you have my sympathy, Rowan.
You must be exhausted Rowan, and another week to go. I hope you manage some sleep tonight and a peaceful weekend. Take Care.
It’s tough, I know.
My mum went a bit crazy. She didn’t have dementia, but cancer in her brain which had much the same result.
As others have said, go with it and nod a lot.
Best wishes.
One of the things that my aunt would say to me when I walked into her house was ''hello Tony, has your dad ( her brother ) dropped you off'' my dad had been dead 27 years and I only lived around a quarter of a mile away from her and usually walked to her house, I would say something like ''Well you know what he's like, he's always got to be somewhere else thats why he hasn't come in''.
