I like to keep as fit and healthy as possible. And i like going for walks, if possible once or twice a week, and the countryside near me is good for the body and mind. Do others go walking and how often?.

I walk Reggie every morning on our local common. Find it’s helps to get the muscles, knees to loosen up. Always feel better for it and mind.

i try but my knees are crocked somewhat, i used to walk for miles once upon a time, that probably is why they are in such a bad way now.
I walk miles because of my little dog who loves going out and I also walk to the shops. I no longer drive as I was never a confident driver and the roads terrify me now ! Glad I gave it up. My poor old knees are quite creaky now, but walking is a good exercise for them, so I keep plodding on !
Not nearly as much as I used to in my youth.
Where do you live William? Up until becoming ill a few months ago I walked every day and had started jogging. I also have done the Race for Life for the past 8 years. But now that I’m on the mend I’m going to start again. I’ve been walking local distances but not more than 20 mins, but think I can up it now.
My knees, and no longer having a dog, means I don't walk as much as I used to. And walks are shorter. But I do make sure I get out...every day in decent weather for 30-40 minutes.
That’s impressive pasta x
We talk the dog for a walk twice a day.
Morning, 60-75 minutes.
Evening, 30-40 minutes.
I can do about an hour/3 miles if it's reasonably flat but I have a duff ankle from an old injury and it hurts so much I can hardly walk at all the following morning. It's joint pain rather than stamina that limits me.

2 friends (50s) decided to get fit and walk up & down a local hill 3 mornings a week. I think it would drive me nuts doing the same walk so frequently!
I found that if I didn't walk, my stamina dropped drastically...a bit scary really. Use it or lose it comes to mind.
That's very true Pasta.
Tilly/Dave, that’s really good. Agree with pasta tho - it’s so so easy to let it slide. When I’ve been recuperating at home on the sofa , the first time I braved walking to our local high street which is about 10/15 mins solid walk each way, I was tired because I’d got out of the habit. Now I’m on the mend I’m ok - I don’t like walking in bad/ yucky weather but definitely feel better after doing it.
Until recently I walked 45 mins a day, but my left knee is playing up badly.
I walked around my local park which is beautiful in the summer.
I have last over half a stone since Dylan arrived in our lives and it's staying off. :-)
What’s wrong with the knee Sharon?
Dylan is a, dog??x

Pasta - that happens to me - when the lockdown came down upon us - I didn't walk for about 3 weeks. (Got Maxie down to local park for his wee run tho). But when I started back one night I couldn't believe how out of puff I was. So if you don't use it you certainly lose it.

I would hazard a guess that the majority of ABers would be incapable of running for a bus!
your guess I guess would be correct Dave LOL
I walk to my car, which is parked on my driveway, every time I go out!
I did use a treadmill until my knee became crunchy and damaged, its painful on walks however it doesn't hurt on stairs. So I walk up and down stairs about 50 times daily listening to radio comedy etc.
