no staff bash as i am retired, but off on the 12th to a Christmas lunch at a friends house which i am really looking forward to.
no one seems to have picked up on the fact that there was a party or parties at No.10 last year, contravening all the advice about not meeting up for a family, friends gathering. I wonder why no one has noticed TTT>
Emmie - sorry TTT to interrupt - when are you going to your brother's - I'm sure you can't wait - and I think you are going for a week.
JJ, 23rd December, after 16 months apart i can't wait, and i am going for a week,
I'm so glad for you as it has been so long. You will have a smashing time.

Bye TTT LOL

Actually, I think that has caused quite a bit of controversy. I don't really understand why though. If people were working together I don't see why they shouldn't have had a drink together before Christmas. We didn't go into lockdown until Boxing Day. Guess it's just something else for people to moan about.
thank you JJ, come what may i am going, the only way i wouldn't is if they all caught covid.

My former workplace where I now volunteer one morning a week was supposed to have a Christmas lunch yesterday. It was cancelled by the venue.
usually one poster picks up on these things, mentioning no names, but it does seem strange that we were all warned not to gather in large numbers even before Boxing day last year, yet they did.
Emmie...what if worst case scenario happens and cab company can't or won't take you? I hope that doesn't happen.
Emmie, but if they're working together day to day why not? What difference does it make if they're working or chatting and having a drink? I honestly can't see what the fuss is about.
i am not moaning about it so much as pointing out that it's been in the News in the last couple of days.
Angela Rayner of Labour has pointed it out more than once... i think she wants an investigation about it, or some such nonsense.
I have booked it with the cab company Pasta, I will wear a mask if they say so, i can't see there being a problem, worse case scenario is go on the train. But that would mean lugging the suitcase down and up the stairs, which is the reason i go by taxi, besides which they are on a nice earner from me....
For the amount of money you pay - somebody would drive you emmie.
none of my friends have cars anymore, they gave them up when driving in the capital became so expensive.
I think Angela Rayner will look for anything to have a go at Boris about and understandanbly. That has always been a function of the opposition. I have a few options but don't know yet, it will be with people I see and sit in meeting rooms etc with every day so what's the problem? Same as those at number 10.
I merely pointed out that some on here usually jump in with both feet when Boris et al do something they don't agree with.
if they had a party good luck to them. I hope mine goes as well.
