Getting A Tooth Removed

I am supposed to be getting a back tooth (that I really need) to be removed due to a "swelling" on top of it.

I have been to 3 dentists and they just said - oh yes it needs to be removed. One dentist said there was vitality in the tooth but due to bone loss and plaque it would need to be removed.

However in the last 9 months the swelling is now reduced and am in no pain I am very reluctant to get it removed and just wait quietly until it gives me some trouble.

I know it is my decision but what would your views be. Thanks

that's ok Sqad but I have an appointment with a dentist next Monday and need to either cancel or go. that's why I was asking. It is the School of Dentistry and I would like the appointment to go to another patient.
I would cancel.

You echo my thoughts Sqad. I do have a private dentist who if I do need him in an emergency - he will take me. Think I'll do that. Thanks Sqad.
I had a back tooth removed cos it was split to below the gum line. It took 2 dentists nearly an hour to get it out & 3 weeks on antibiotics to clear up the infection.

I really miss it - it was my main "chewing" tooth!
I'd definitely leave it jj, I had to have a back tooth removed once and (as above) I used to chew down on it and I really missed it ! If you are in no pain, there is no problem.
erm - - - I have a pair of pliers...
