(Sorry for the late posting tonight. I fell asleep!)

I had a look on the BBC News website for a Quiz of the Week last Friday but couldn't see one. (I just assumed that, having only recently published their four-part end of year quiz, they'd not got back to publishing their weekly ones yet). It wasn't until several days later that I found out that they'd actually published it a day earlier than usual, on Thursday of last week. So I saved it up for today:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-55489748
(I got the first FIVE right but then messed up on the final two questions)

I note that this week's quiz is also showing that it went online yesterday. Perhaps Auntie Beeb has decided that Thursday is a better day for it? (Even if the quizzes do keep turning up on Thursdays, I'll probably keep posting these threads on Fridays anyway though. They just seem to be 'a Friday night thing' to me!):

(I got the 1992 music question wrong - how that got into a quiz on this week's news I'll never know! - but otherwise I fared well, giving me a healthy score of SIX).

ALSO . . . remembering just how poorly some of you lot scored on the JUNIOR version of the quiz around Christmastime, I thought that I'd add it in as a little bonus offering this week:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/51318780
(I shouldn't have done though! I only scored TWO out of five!)

So plenty for you all to try this week!

Quiz one. An absolutely abysmal three.

Quiz two. A much better five.

Well done with your scores Buenchico, shows what a tonic champagne is!
Question Author
You're averaging four out of seven, Cashier, so better than half anyway ;-)

I think it was the long sleep, possibly due to the delayed after effects of the champagne, that actually improved my scores this week ;-)
4/7
5/7 Chuffed with that : ))
1/5 Ouch !! know where i went wrong
5 and 3 for me.
Question Author
Well done with those decent scores on the adult quizzes, Sam!

I think that it's a case of 'the least said the better' with the kids' one though ;-)
Question Author
Well done, Milo2. You've matched Cashier's scores - but in reverse!
5/7.
I can’t believe I got the KLF one wrong.
3 and 2 for me - but I got 5 for the first one when I did it before!
Question Author
Well done with that decent score, Sunk. (I have to admit that, if I'd heard somebody mention 'KLF' out of context, I'd have probably thought that they were talking about some sort of revolutionary militant group, somewhere in the world. Music ain't my subject!).

Is last week too far back for you though?
First one 4/7
2/7
4/7
1/5

Pretty lousy.
Question Author
A little low, Arrods, but at least your scores aren't too disastrous a start to the new year! (Er, aren't you meant to get better though, the second time around?)
;-)
Question Author
Aha! Sunk is working in reverse! That's a decent enough score then, Sunk. Well done.
Junior one

2/5
Question Author
Think of your scores of 2 and 4 as 'a good base to work from' for future weeks, Tony!

. . . and try not to think of your score of 1 at all ;-)
Question Author
Snap, Sunk! Welcome to the club!
5 & 6 for me but I don't know how!
Question Author
Very well done, Ubasses! The same scores as me - except reversed!
5 in both for me. Trying last one now
Quiz 1. 5/7
