new pennys?
New pennies? (We used to get one in our stockings)

I have never understood what ' as near as possible to how they sound' means! Can anyone help?
That doesn't apply to this clue Mex but is often apparent in others.

Sometimes you need to say two or three words together to get what they sound
like..
eg

Wisps 5th stumble conferences.

Fluff E slip pears.
Surely, as near as possible to how they sound is how they sound!
I guess, I have too many quizzes to sit and be over analytical about it.
I hope I'm not turning into Peter Pedant! Perish the thought!!
