Eyeless Potatoes How Do You Get Them To "Chit"

I got a set of potatoes for Christmas but they were Totally without "eyes"
And refused to "chit" of course
As they came from a reputable nursery I planted them up anyway
But they have provided very little in the way of normal growth and I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Surprised you had any growth at all, I would return them for a refund if it happens again I would expect at least two good eyes ideally three per seed potato.
