Are you a dog person or a cat person? If neither what pets or companion animals do you have? What attracted you to that species or breed?

I don't have a pet but my cat has one.
Yes, I have a small black Cockapoo who's 4.5 yrs old, not a cat person but don't mind them either
Oh yes - I have my wee dog Maxie - my one and only son and heir LOL
I have a cat (he's actually my sons) I like dogs if I know them but wouldn't like the responsibility of one.
Cat.

Is that maxie in your avatar jenny? He looks like a little gem. Bet its a B to keep him looking that clean.
It is him banker - but he was a very ill dog in that avatar. He was very badly treated by his last owner and therefore a very frightened, submissive wee critter coming to me every second putting his paw on my knee - like saying he was "sorry". That broke my heart.

Now he is just lovely and we have "conversations" every day.

The other night - I gave a him a choice of a Pedigree dental stick or Sainsbury's - he picked Sainsburys. Sorry for going on about him cos I know everybody loves their animals too.
as you can see by my avatar i am a dog person this is jordy who sadly died a few months ago age 15 and a half, and i still miss him.
I know you do Jordy - would you not think of walking a little dog a few days a week.

Question Author
Sorry for your loss Jordy. Losing a pet is very distressing.
Question Author
Not many pet lovers about today. Probably all out walking their dogs. does anyone own an 'exotic pet'. spath.....don't bother (smiley face)
frank, why not ask the Ed to move this thread to the pets topic? :)
I’m hoping to get a cat soon.
2 Dogs, 4 cats and 2 feral cats
I have a neighbours cat that has decided to move in with me
I am the slave to a rather demanding ginger tabby cat who goes by the name of ASBO.

Last night I caught him sitting in the middle of the road taunting a dog behind a closed gate.
We have a 9 year old Cairn - numerous phobias, trailers, white vans, noisy lorries and hates black labradors and standard poodles. A real character who will walk miles and eat all day if you let him.
I've got both. An elderly lurcher(whippet x) and an elderly deaf cat. The cat drives me crazy, as he's constantly 'talking'...but I worry when he's quiet.
I've always been a crazy cat lady, but love dogs also. Decided to get a sighthound because of their gentleness and non-bouncey nature. I had to wait a bit for a perfect, cat friendly match.
After losing our old moggy last year (18 years old, Fazioli), we have had Eric (British Shorthair) since Christmas. He is now 10 months old and very vocal, he tells me we have settled in nicely!! Would not be without a cat, and am thinking of getting a dog maybe next year.
No pets at all for me now, Frank. When the children were at home we had all sorts and they were good at caring for them. Then they left home...the kids not the pets....and I took over all the care....well just two cats by then.
I get nothing out of caring for indoor pets and prefer my house without them....I feel the same way about potted plants now too..... :-)
