I have one left. it is:

89. Rip the container. It must start with T as the answers are in alphabetical order, and they are words that sound the same.

The answer I've seen suggested is Tear - Tare, but tare is the weight of the empty container, not the container itself.

Help appreciated.

Tare - the weight of a container (Chambers)
Question Author
Yes, I know - but surely the clue refers to a container, not its weight?
It can also be a container - a counterbalance

https://www.thefreedictionary.com/tare

It also describes the container itself...

tare (tɛə)
n
1. (Commerce) the weight of the wrapping or container in which goods are packed
2. (Commerce) a deduction from gross weight to compensate for this
3. (Commerce) the weight of a vehicle without its cargo, passengers, etc
4. (Commerce) an empty container used as a counterbalance in determining net weight

Thank you for your replies. I think it's a bit of a strange clue, but will go with it. I would have thought instead of 'container' a better word to use would be 'weight', but that's just me.
