Your answers confirm my guesses, - I'm right for 15,20 and 38 thank you, except I can't see how No. 3 works, as, yes, there are three letters the same, but what has 'loses 2' to do with it?
The clues given previously for 33 refer
to a hobby of someone in a tv series, but I'm completely stumped.
Vegetable loses 3rd letter of the alphabet and gains the second letter of the alphabet
3 a green veg, 7 letters, swap the 1st letter
Think of the position of letters in alphabet
33 google the jet engine
3 & 2 refer to alphabetical positions

33 Small sharp knife and some wood for this hobby.

3. Does it begin with C? If so it doesn't follow the clue as far as I can see. The 2nd letter of the alphabet is B and the third is C, so it should say it loses 3 and gets 2, shouldn't it? Or am I going mad!!!
Thank you for all your help.
The clue seem to be the wrong way round. The inventor starts with B.
Yes, clue is wrong. Answer begins with B
I corrected it up there ^
Question Author
Yes, I meant that the answer starts with B, sorry. The clue is wrong, isn't it?
What has the answer to 33 have to do with the radio? I have got the answer, but the clue is strange.
on radio = sounds like
Question Author
Mamy - I
never knew that! Thankyou very much.
I think 'make something smaller' works better and on the radio is superfluous.
