Much more of a challenge today - couldn't work out which direction he'd taken from the fortlet. Managed to track down the artist (never heard of him!), and from there it was straightforward, and I spotted the waterfall.
Don't know if I fancy Abu Dhabi, though....

Agreed GG, much more intricate this week!

Mr Fautley must have been thinking of you especially today - with a Viaduct . . . (truncated, naturally!), the SD & LUR Railway for you to trace on your map under the stairs at GG Towers, Roman Fortlet, Signal Station, National Park and Waterfalls. A veritable full house - n'est ce pas?

Maybe I am wrong but I do have a sense of déjà vu, since I could have sworn that the 1879 disaster itself has been mentioned or at least referred to in a previous puzzle. I do hope that we are not going the way of TV with repeat broadcasts?

I would be quite happy to go halves with you on the Abu Dhabi trip if your name features in the winner's circle next Sunday!
Was the 1879 disaster the bridge that collapsed?
...I haven't got today's link. :-(
Here is the link Tilly :-)

You can copy/paste it (Ctrl+C then Ctrl +V) somewhere on your pc - eg calendar? to keep it handy for subsequent weeks.

I kept thinking "Peel me a grape....." :)
I have copied and pasted the link, thank you, Flonska. I didn't think of doing that.

I have the name of the viaduct and the engineer but I'm floundering a bit now. Will have another look later.

Thanks again, both of you.
Belah viaduct

Those are not the answers I've got, Mahler.

Your second answer is wrong, mahler.
Aww. I have a different viaduct.

Mine begins with G (or L)

Ha ha Tilly, it's going to be a long rest-of-the-morning....
Not Gaunless then?

I'm off, line dancing. That is not a pun. :-)

Question Author
No, the one mentioned beginning with B....
Back to the drawing board then. Thanks GG.

I think I have the town. The one in which the painter died.
