Thank you Captain2 for your answers. Still not sure a pirate is a job but hey how!
Don't understand where beacon comes from in the first place?
You can see a beacon for miles
Suggestion for 1. Journalist. As I think jour is day in French, also got a list. Just n left.
Re the Pirate, what about the "planning to get many"
Good point Sam

Try
Priest - anagram of 'traipse' less 'a s(hilling)' + .....
Captain, Planning to get more money presumably
... so 'though planning to get many' means you put an 's' back in the anagram, do you think?
Or getting many shillings. Sounds like pirate.
Where are dannyk and Mamya when you need them.
4 I agree with 'pirate.'
'Planning to get many' probably means that a pirate is planning to rob and plunder and thus get lots of shillings.
I always wanted to be a pirate, just didn't know where to apply.
I'd go with pirate.
