"Ill-natured person brought to carpet for corrective action (8)"

Thanks fiction-factory and Fibonacci. Please, I need more help. I'm still stuck. "Sourpuss" is an ill natured person and all parts of questions are relevant. You advise that it is an ACTUAL anagram of 'to carpet' therefore TT is part and also is a word for spider!
I've tried that I can't find it.

I can't see how anything in "brought to carpet for corrective action" leads to sourpuss.
