I am stuck on the following in a local quiz, closing soon, so I should love some help please.

A saying or expression - 1. S F M F I H T D 2. T F B T S

A traditional song - 3. T L M F S A W

This one contains a part of the body - 4. S H H A T

A ditloid is a type of word puzzle, in which a phrase, quotation, date, or fact must be deduced from the numbers and abbreviated letters in the clue.
So do the above all have a number as well as words in them ?

Thank you very much, mallyh. I agree that a Diploid usually has a number inanition to letters, but not all the ones in the quiz did, and i was unsure how to describe the clue i.e. what to put in the title box.

Oh, thank you SO much, Calibax. That leaves me with just the one "part of the body" saying now i.e. S H H A T (sounds rude but I am sure it won't be!)

can you check with the setter that the body one is right ....I've read every saying and expression going lol x

Do we know whether the S H H A T contains a number (six, seven, sixteen...hundred) as most of the others did?

Thank you folks for trying to help with this one. Some of the ones that I have solved did not have a number e.g. Put your back in it; All fingers and Thumbs, so SHHAT may or may not have a number. I'll ring the local setter and check the letters as I too, have searched many lists before asking on here. Thanks again
