Where can i see a good collection of Ruben's paintings? I have recently seen the two at kingston lacy and i was wondering where i could see more?

Also one of the paintings is called Lady with a dwarf, it seems quite a strange theme, and it appears the dwarf was almost kept like a pet. How were dwarves viewd/percieved in Ruben's time? And do other Ruben's paintings have such unique themes?

Thanks in advance

Big Rubens exhibition at the National Gallery in London next month.

Works by Rubens are quite common in the UK, especially when compared with works by other Old Masters. London has a lot in such galleries as the National, Courtauld Institute, Wallace Collection and the famous painted ceiling in the Banqueting House in Whitehall. Works can also be found in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Oxford, Cambridge, Birmingham, Liverpool, Ascott, Norfolk and Yorkshire (among other places).

As for the dwarf, dwarves were often employed by royalty and other rich people as entertainers. This explains why they are commonly found in paintings of the time.
