Please can someone explain this: A picture of a head, arrow points to neck. Next to that is a short black line. The answer is (in order for AVAILED to be correct, which it is) is NECKLACE .....why? NECKLINE I can understand, but why NECKLACE?

Maybe the line is meant to be a shoe lace?

NECKLINE makes sense, but the 'A' of NECKLACE is needed for AVAILED
Neckline would appear to be more appropriate. Are you sure of availed?
Which clue gives availed?

Used deal via trickery.......availed is anagram of 'deal via' and can mean used
