Mm And Km Links May 2013 Week
This week we are all ready and prepared for tomorrows launch of May's final round of the MM Links Game.
BigMac has 'sportingly' agreed to ensure that any clues offered will be less blatant than last week. That means you will need to exercise more of your brain-power when the introduction appears in Q&P at 8:45 tomorrow morning, followed by the challenge words at 9:00.
BigMac has indicated there may be a problem with him being able to post, but I'll be standing by with a reserve copy if there are any hitches.
Don't forget that there is also the KM Links Game where you pit your wits against the setter of the Daily Telegraph GK Crosswords (Kate Mepham). That version starts a little earlier and is managed by seekeerz from Australia. Yes we are truly a global community and anyone can play regardless of where you are as long as you can somehow manage to achieve Internet Access. If they have it in Tavira, then they probably have it anywhere. We'll find out tomorrow.
The shrubbery is now open for socialising but is under threat of closure because limited use has caused profits to plummet.
May I take this opportunity to remind you of the scoring in each game.
1 point for each correct link guessed
1 bonus point for the first to guess each link
1 bonus point also to anyone correctly guessing a link within 2 minutes of the first correct guesser of that link.
2 bonus points to anyone correctly guessing all 4 links
All guesses must be real words between 4 and 8 letters in length
The combined answer will not be a person's name.
1 correct guess = 1 point
2 correct guesses = 3 points
3 correct guesses = 6 points
4 correct guesses = 10 points
. . . regardless of when played
Remember that the answers all have to be clued by Kate Mepham to appear in Monday's 'Herculis' Crossword. They are unlikely (but not impossible) to be words that were used in the clues to Saturday's crossword. For that reason, Seekeers always posts the wording of Saturday's clues before launching the game.
Until tomorrow then - Happy Linking
