I'd go with GREENSWARD, on the basis that the sprouts are sick, even though "ward" is in the clue. Greenhouse - why would they need a house if they were sick?
I agree with frugalfred. Trying to work out the other one.
If it's Jimmy White as I suspect, I'm afraid he's not from Essex
^Or Steve Davis?
Not born in Essex but based in Romford during his early carrer
Needs a colour in the answer Calibax
^Oops, so it does, emeritus. Looks like Jimmy White could be the expected answer then.

Thank you and I agree with frugafred about Greensward. As for Jimmy White, I had thought of that answer but agree with MadSolver that he`s not from Essex. Ronnie O`Sullivan I believe is the Essex Potter. I doubt it`s a `clay` potter as I really can`t think of one
Could it be a gardener?
Question Author
Yes Vakayu it could be, but I can`t think of anyone. I was also thinking of `pottering` around----it really is doing my head in ha ha
An Essex Potter might be a White Friar; there is a pottery in Maldon run by White Friars. See this link:

Not Maldon ^^ Aylesford Priory. Senility is creeping up on me!
There is also an Essex pottery called Butts Green - http://www.buttsgreenpottery.co.uk/

Thank you all for your help---I`m going to have to take
a `pot shot` at my first question----I know, don`t all
groan at once :)
Hi Fairlight,
I think Ive finished this for once, although not 100% happy with the Essex Potter... I just thought Id drop by to share what I have, as you've helped me in the past... I have Grays Elegy.... Grays being a town in Essex of course, and the elegy/potter part being (at a stretch) justified by there being an academically well-known defence of Thomas Gray by someone called Potter ( I think it was Robert Potter) .. we played with the snooker player idea too and agree re: Jimmy White ( from Tooting and lives in Surrey) although it's still tempting. Good luck, anyway! :)
Greens ward
Question Author
Thank you for that Yamenja---your answer looks promising, I have ended up with Jimmy White unfortunately :) Good luck
potter not something to do with Beatrix, or perhaps Harry, sorry to confuse the issue, but this has now got to me... and i don't even do the quiz.
My pleasure, sorry I was late dropping by. Good luck to you too! :)

Hi em10----I hadn`t thought of Beatrix Potter so one never knows. If you keep looking in here I will give the the answer to it when I receive the answers or maybe Yamenja will, whoever gets them first ha ha :)
