Hi, all,

Can anyone set my mind at rest, on The Chase on Wednesday, a question was "What word links a playing card and a fighter pilot shot down?". I couldn't hear clearly the answer, and despite playing it back, still can't decipher what it was. Anyone help?

Ace?
Ace
ACE
Was that the whole question - an ace a is a pilot who has shot down several, usually more than 5 enemy craft
The question was

"What name is shared by a playing card and a pilot who has shot down..."
The woman answers ACE and Brad was going on to say "Many enemy" before she interrupted. Ace was the right answer.

I'm pretty sure that was the question, but the contestant interrupted before Bradley had finished speaking, so that's why I didn't catch the answer. Perhaps I misheard the question, and it was meant to be ". . a fighter pilot who has shot down . . " Ace was the only card I know of that fits, but it didn't fit what I heard as the question. Thanks, all.

Thanks JudgeN, our replies crossed, I thought it had to be that.
You can watch it on the ITV player, and the question starts at 22:24. If you put the subtitles on you can hear the question and her response.

It was Ace. I must admit I wondered at the question because I didn't know an Ace fighter pilot only got called that if they were shot down (the question was exactly as you said regulo)
