I am Secretary/Trustee for a local charity and we're shortly having a quiz night. In the past I've been accused of compiling questions that are too hard..! Not sure what that means. Either you know the answers to questions or you don't. Does anyone have any idea where I can get 'easy' quiz questions please? I have loads of questions that I don't think are 'hard' but, apparently, they are. And I have no idea how to compile an 'easy' quiz. How easy is easy?!

A quiz is only easy if you know the answers Lindy.
It's the skill of the quiz setter to make sure that the quiz is a competition between the competitors, not between the competitors and the setter.

What level of quizzing are your target audience at?
These are classed as easy..............

Use GCSE exam questions?
^^ :-)
Sorry- may not be funny if your children are doing or have just taken them!
I like doing quizzes but I now know which ones I am likely to be able to do and so I send for those. I am useless at link words for instance so I ignore them. But even with ones that are considered easy I always get to the stage where I have one or two questions I cannot answer. I have one at the moment which has 60 questions - yes I have done 58 easy-peasy, but the last two have me really puzzled. I am not going to ask - closing date is end of November so plenty of time but I think what I am trying to say is whatever you do there will be one or two that the competitors find too difficult or obscure for them. Just have to do your best.
If you have an idea of the likely audience, pitch the questions at them eg if most are over 60 they are unlikely to know a lot about current pop music so will think those are hard.
Ask someone to help you set the questions or act as the audience (someone who won't be at the quiz night) - if they think questions are hard then reword them.
Be aware of possible alternative answers and decide if you will accept them - British Prime Minister in 1940 could be Chamberlain or Churchill

Remember the reason for the quiz is to raise funds for your charity. If those there enjoy it they'll come to another, if they don't they won't
Hope these help
Its a difficult balance to achieve. The goal is that everyone has a fun night while still being challenged - try us with a few that you don't think are hard - see what everybody thinks.
