Why do people buy quizzes if they are not prepared to have a go at solving them? Today on Answerbank [yes I know what that means!] 2 people have asked for answers to quizzes which don't close till Jan 2013.I believe that is unfair to setters and sellers......... but then perhaps I am just an old F**t !!!

I agree up to a point. I can't get my head round why any quiz would have a closing date in excess of 3 months ahead.

I know from when I used to set quizzes that sales used to dry up once people started asking questions. They would think that they were near to closing date even if it was weeks off.Cant see any need whatsoever to ask for clues 4 months in advance!!

I understand where you are coming from jodder but I do like to finish them and sometimes I reach a stage where despite racking my brains there are a couple of answers I can't get. I only ask for help when I am desperate. I can assure you I never win any of them, so whatever happens at least the ones who need the money benefit by my donation. I must say I admire the people who set them - they must work very hard to think of all the questions.

In answer to your question Howardkennitb most people set follow on quizzes so have a quiz ready to go out when one finishes. As they take some time to compile a long [3 or 4 month] period to finish the quiz means that the next quiz is ready. Hope that makes sense..... its what I used to do so I probably set 3 a year.

Can't think your sales would dry up just because I have asked for two answers out of 90 questions. More likely to be lack of advertising especially if you have allowed six months as the allotted time. Perhaps it would be better if you advertised every month instead of just once at the beginning. Just saying!

Starbuckone I understand your need to finish a quiz but does it really need to be finished today when you have another 4 months? I can assure you that asking for answers very early does prevent more quizzes being sold.

This quiz has nothing to do with me starbuckone, can just sympathise with the setters for a loss of income!

If there are quizzes that folks need a little bit of help with and there are question and answer sites then the result isn't all that surprising.
Bees in bonnets are mostly an issue for the wearer.

I've just finished one I didn't ask for - I don't mind this but it does not finish until January 10th. So what the hell do I do with it while I am waiting for the right time to send it. If I send it now it might get mixed up with the one that is running now - it's a follow on one. Fortunately, I have not had to ask for help with this one but I don't want it hanging about here until next year. It will probably get lost and then no-one will benefit because I haven't yet paid for it. What I am really saying jodder is that I enjoy doing them but when they are finished - or nearly finished - I want to get rid of them. Sorry if this offends you, but there you are, it's how I feel.

I will jodder. Thanks for the advice - sorry we don't agree completely but I must admit I like doing quizzes - except the ones with letters which you have to work out what they mean. I can't do those so I avoid them. :-) Will try in future not to ask for help.

Its not asking for one or two that is the issue its the fact that some people ask over half of it if not more and once they start a tread others join and there are actually some quizzes now were you dont need to answer any yourself you could get all the answers from here

Like a certain person who has asked most of the questions on the proverbs quiz, she'll be happy now coz someone has just given her the last 2 answers, i found one of the answers quite fitting, it suited the asker a treat! The answer in initial form was UAFAE
