not sure if Channel Tunnel qualifies or something like the London Underground or thames tunnel? any ideas gratefully received. LL

Tunnels are (almost) never underwater, per se - they all go through the earth, although there may be water above the earth that they go through. Is that what you mean...?

yes, i think it means in the earth, which is under the water
Definitely the Channel Tunnel, then, even though only half of it is in the UK...
