Shut down problems - Windows XP

For a while now, whenever we've wanted to shut down the computer, we've had the message 'End Program Autocomplete' come up. We press 'end program' and the same message pops up. This usually happens three times, then it shuts down. This is really annoying as it takes ages to shut the computer down and you have to stand over it while it's doing so, in order to press the 'end now' button.
I'd be grateful if anybody could help me with this.

This is a guess.
A google seacrh on Autocomplete.exe reveals a number of choices. One is malware, the others are all downloadable apps to add or enhance autocompletion in various programs.

First thing I would do is go to Add/Remove programs and see if anything like that has been installed. If so, uninstall it.

If nothing is revealed there, try running Malwarebytes Anti-malware:
