Has anybody else tried to do the Everyman Crossword online using the link to the PDF format version?

Every time I try print off a copy, the crossword is tiny, filling barely more than a quarter of the page, making it impossible to complete.

I have been using the non-pdf version, but obviously they'd like people to use the PDF version so they can gather marketing info, etc.

What have other people been doing ?

Hi CSI - I've just been over to have a look & I see what you mean. I'm not much use when it comes to this sort of thing, but shouldn't it be possible to "Zoom", then print?

I can't start the printer up to try what I mean 'cos of the neighbours...

Sorry I'm of no help, but I didn't want you to think your thread was being ignored! :-)

Thanks lie-in-king, I have emailled them , and The Guardian are usually quite prompt in replying and solving any problems ( unlike The Times ), but I'm surprised that they've let the problem happen in the first place.

I've tried combinations of zooming and/or refitting to page but nothing seems to work. I'll just use the original print out to complete the crossowrd.

Me and Mrs. CSI have done well this week, winning both the Times Saturday and the LEXICONFUSION puzzle from The Saturday Times magazine, so here's hoping the next win is a big one !
Congratulations to you both & fingers crossed! :-))
Congratulations to you both.I've only been able to print the Observer crosswords successfully using full-version Acrobat, which unfortunately most people don't have.

They obviously need to look at this - the Guardian prize crossword seems to print fine from any application that can read pdf files.
Try a screen dump, then open up something like fireworks or photoshop, drop it in there then enlarge and print.

Hope you're still with me

Hi bathtub

I emailed the Guardian crossword editor a couple of months ago about a printing problem with crosswords and got an almost immediate reply with a next day resolution, so here's hoping the same thing happens this time.

I've lost track of the number of times I've emailed The Times about crossword problems ( especially about the non-appearance of the TLS crossword ) only to get a stock acknowledgement of my email and then no action

Thanks for both your replies !

Thanks Cmitchell, I've done something similar to what you've suggested, I did a PrtScrn. used Paint Shop Pro and enlarged the image. The clues are now almost too blurred to read, but its left me with a grid which is large enough to complete and send in.

Thanks for everyone's input

goodnight !
