thanks to all. I was sure that 13ac should have a u and not an 'e' but then 9d has an odd spelling and 42ac should only have one 'l'. Sometims I think that he just does it to keep us on our toes with the alternative spellings. Still a few more to go so I may be back for help. Ontario Ice, I should ask your help for 19ac. I have ?i?i?g
macpark, when you find 19a you'll be on the crest of a wave!
Alternatively macpark .. think of the old divisions of Yorkshire for a pointer to the answer of 19 across.

19a was the very last answer that I found .. I wrongly assumed clue was asking for the real name of a particular constituency. It was only by chance that I eventually stumbled across the answer on google!

Well done you. I still have 2 outstanding - 18 & 46 across.
I can find plenty of words that ft but not convinced about the relevance of any of them to the clue!
Would you like the answers .. you are most welcome. It's just that sometimes people prefer to be given clues.

18a is a Scottish word similar to aslant
46a ends with an O and seems to be of Italian derivation.

By all means 'shout' if you would like the answers. (S)
