Other countries equivalent awards to A levels

I have just started my A levels taking Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Geography. I'm pretty certain I would like to be a forensic scientist or some other science related career. My family plans to move to Australia after college, I am planning on taking a year out then going to Uni over in Australia if I like it. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knows what the equivalent scores are? I read that for one uni I would need a VCE with a score of 50, does anyone know what this means, like what would I need to get, for example A A B at A level etc?
