Just the two queries :-
1) America's brief: one in Italian outfit would be more fastidious (8) D??N?I?R. It looks like DAINTIER (more fastidious) but, whilst I get DA (America's brief/lawyer), I can't see how INTER (with one/I inside it) = "Italian outfit".
2) Making use of our language, not for good (8) E??A?ING. It looks like ENGAGING but, while ENG = Our language, I'm a bit iffy about AGING = not for good. Assuming for good means for ever, is AGING accurately the opposite of forever?

'DA' + 'i' (one, in) 'Inter (Milan)' (outfit; club)' Eng( lish)' + 'agin' (not for; against) + 'g(ood)'
