My Oxford English Dictionary has given only Dob in.
It does not mention Dob on.
So, I am in a dilemma!
It's 11, and def 'Dob in'
I'm familiar with the phrase dob in. Dob on is new to me.
I got Dob on, Cheated and googled the question, Dob on seemed to be the answer most given.
in my 78 years I have only heard the expression dob in
Ask any Australian - you 'dob someone in', you certainly do not 'dob someone on' !
In grammar terms surely it must be past tense
dob on ? perhaps I am wrong
Past tense would be dobbed. The clue is present tense: To inform against or report.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to reply to me. The question certainly awoke a difference of opinion. I've settled on 'dob in' as most of you have chosen this as your answer, although I have to say I believe that 'dob on' is more gramatically correct. You don't tell or report 'in' an individual or something, surely telling or reporting 'on' an individual or something makes more sense. Thanks again, everyone.
