I haven't done cryptic crosswords for years although I was weaned on the Telegraph because my mum did it daily and then when grown up the Guardian prize on Saturday was the highlight of my weekend.
No disrespect meant to anyone but the job of a setter must have become so much easier if they can use sloppy clues like n meaning knight..
I see that N is an abbreviation for Knight, in a game of chess. All the others start with first letter of piece As the King starts with K, to avoid confusion, the K for Knight, is an N.
Didn't know that untill I did a bit of research :-)
So it is Patsy, thereagain in my day it was Kt.
