Progressing well with this but struggling with two 9 letter clues.
1. Accepting place to join order, adult passed with honour. Begins with D.
2. G&T round ordered up with one in is extremely unlikely to slip down! Begins with G.
Any help much appreciated.

3 letters for 'passed (away)' around PL(ace) + 2 letters for 'order' + A(dult) [def 'with honour'].
7 letters for 'ordered' (like TV progs) reversed with 'one' = I inside [all inside GT] def 'extremely unlikely to slip'.
The definition in Chambers suggests it's either most or least likely to slip, and it's pretty obscure.
...sorry, that should be 4 letters for 'passed...'.

Many thanks. Making headway now.
Evening all - I had 3 of the 9 letter solutions this morning, but I am tormented, rather, by 'Sally carries on divination'. If any kind soul can help me with this, you may be able to prevent me becoming rapidly alcoholic etc. this evening!

I have sortilege for this. A sally is a sortie and it carries leg = “on”? Seems to fit ok but not totally sure of parsing.
Many thanks Gojira! Superb, and on my fourth glass of wine LOL!
