What a cracking puzzle - a very fair carte blanche with some decent entry points.

Excellently hidden wrong letters in some quite elegant clues and then just enough of a hint in the message to make the song findable.

The final grid alteration was very neat and the last bit of highlighting was the cherry on the cake.

Thanks Aragon - that was fun.

Agree entirely with Sunny Dave. I had to do a lot of cold solving before I cracked the clues that provided the entry point, which I confess I found rather a slog, but from then on this was a joy to solve and the endgame was brilliant. Overall a terrific puzzle with a payoff that amply rewarded earlier frustrations. Thanks Aragon.
Brilliant from start to finish and the late PDM added to the pleasure.

Thanks Aragon.
Where to start with this one? Frankly it just should not be possible to do what the setter has done here. I would never even think of attempting such a puzzle in the first place. How is it that those jumbles work? And that there are real words in the final grid? Oh, and then they just pop in a relevant name. One of of the 5-letter down entries springs to mind.

Of course, there was licence given in the allowed word set, but not much, really. I'm really looking forward to the LWO setter's blog for this one.

Many thanks, Aragon, it's an astonishing achievement. You've raised the bar on jigsaw puzzles from high jump to pole vault.
An absolute joy
Best of the year thus far by a mile -- I know, early days yet.

Many thanks, Aragon. Brilliant!
What a stunner. Thanks, Aragon.
Late to it this week.

I completely agree with others, a cracking puzzle. I know I have said it before, but I do love jigsaw puzzles and that feeling of reassurance you get when you start to crack clues with the help of the grid. I also appreciate a finish like this one too. Wonderful, thanks Aragon.
Delightful.

Cold solving nearly half the clues was just enough for me to start the grid, and after that it was plain sailing.

I like it when the endgame is straightforward and doesn't require any lateral thinking.
