I give to 3 or 4 organisations via my online account, but the disaster in Tonga and what's happening in Afghanistan tears at my heart strings.

The old lady (Afghanistan) being interviewed - with 12 or 13 grandchildren - her sons were shot dead by Taliban - has nothing.

I am tempted to give but do remember many years ago (think it was Serbs and Kurds and being displaced). I recall it was December but the money never came out of my account until the following July and I do wonder do the poor people receive it.
