Definitely "Trump", I did think it was "ruff" (as in "reportedly" - "rough", but it could be "tuff" as in "tough" reportedly. Cheers, Chox.

In trick-taking games, to ruff means to play a trump card to a trick (other than when trumps were led)

Sorry about the typo, my hands ran away with me. But will go with "ruff" had no idea that "ruff" meant "Trump" in cards. You learn something new every day. Cheers, Chox.
