This was 160 in Book 3 . It is totally different from the previous 159. e.g 8d is “Irving’s Tennysonian part. “The answer is Becket which is fine is you happen to know that Henry Irving played Thomas Becket in Tennyson’s Becket. 18d was “This garment should be furry” Ans Pelisse.
Leaving several clues like that aside, please explain these.
1.He’s gone beyond the pale, the old sinner . Ans Trespasser.
2.The cad’s not much money on him. Ans Outsider.
