Please explain these to me.
1.Noise of alarm note gets slumber out of head . Ans bleep. Is it simply that digital alarm clocks bleep?
2.Attend prelude for organ. Ans heart (body organ) but can’t see the first bit.
3.A man nowadays further on . Ans ahead (further on). No idea about first bit.
4. Doggedness shown by a few from each large town. Ans tenacity. I was thinking of “ten a penny” but that would more cheapness/commonness than a few.
5.Hot to get vengeance , feeling this? Ans hate. H=hot but I thought ate was worry rather than vengeance.
6. So purgative, as girl goes to far north to get rid of a cold. Ans cathartic (purgative) . Cath artic . I can’t see what “so” is doing and why to have to get rid of a cold .
7. Brainless hero in word game losing head. Ans rambo. Found out that there is a game called crambo. Rambo means someone who is violent but I don’t see why brainless. The SAS may be violent but anything but brainless.

3 a he(a male/man) A.D. (nowadays) = ahead
6. Arctic (far north) - C(old) = artic
4 Ten a City = a few people from each city when compared to the number of people in a city!
1 Bleep (sound of alarm) = B (note) + (s)leep (slumber minus head)
Question Author
Silly me re 6 -was convinced the far north was the artic.
2 Is the clue correct? If it was -

Attend prelude for the/this (?) organ - then

'hear' (attend) + 't(he/his)' (prelude)
2 Be at (attend) - ......can't quite get it

heartbeat / a heart beats etc
Question Author
Sorry Lie in King had to go out . My apologies it was "Attend prelude for the organ".
