Does This Seem Right?
43 Answers
I bought a wall art canvas from The Range and paid to have it delivered. The canvas cost £26.99, but when it arrived and I unpacked it, the price ticket on it was for £19.99.I checked to see if it's the right one and it is. Do you think they are selling old stock at a new price and can they do that?

/// If you take an item to the till and are told the price on the tag or label is a mistake, you don't have a right to buy the item at the lower price. You could still try asking the seller to honour the price. It's the same if you see an item advertised anywhere for a lower price than the one on the price tag.///

They don't seem to have an email address and I don't anything I can take a picture with.
It's supposed to light up, but I've just put new batteries in it and it doesn't.
I think the best thing to do would be to take it back, but my receipt is the email they sent and I don't have a printer to print it off and cannot take a photo of it.
If I take it back to the store, will they be able to find out the price I paid for it?

I'm on to the phone at the moment and they are playing the most awful jazz music. I think they do that so you will hang up. I honestly don't know anyone with a printer as people I know have smart phones and I don't have one.
I've always thought I never needed a smart phone, but one would certainly come in handy for this.
Think I'll just have to hang on until someone answers.
Do you think they might send me a receipt by post if I ask?

What is the current price on the website? The rules for seeing it on the shop shelf and taking it to the checkout are different to buying online.
In store if the shelf price is different to the till price they can refuse to sell it.
If it was advertised online for £27 and they charged you £27 then you agreed to that price and they accepted your payment. It has been delivered so the contract has been satisfied.
You could phone or take it back but if they do agree to refund the difference it will be a goodwill gesture.
However, assuming you bought it online the law states that you can return for any reason for a full refund if that is what you want to do.

I didn't buy it in the shop, I bought it online from their website.
The price instore and online is the price I paid, £26.99.
The ticket on it was £17.99 and it doesn't even work see @ 12.32.
I am definitely taking it back but I can't take anything with me that proves how much I paid for it
Been on the phone waiting for them to answer for 23 mins now!
