What on earth has the BBC done with the feeds from the EURO matches - the pictures (via Sky) are horrid and blurry - barely SD quality let alone HD.

Fortunately I also have RTE satellite pictures, which are crystal clear - it looks like the BBC are getting a very poor quality feed from the host broadcasters.

Just checked and ITV is good quality - just the Beeb that is pants it seems

"Quality"
I'd have to disagree, s-d - I'm watching ITV & it's *just about* HD quality, whereas the BBC earlier was lovely & sharp.
I'll qualify my answer - close-ups are good, the pitch view is so-so

You on freeview or satellite, LiK?
Freeview, Dave

Interesting - I think the BBC may be saving a few bob by not using real HD on satellite - some of their other stuff looks a bit weird today as well.
To satellite, I can't comment, but the progs they put up when the footy was adjourned looked crisp to me - Rochelle especially ;-)
I was watching the cricket highlights on BBC HD earlier and in the slow-motion shots, I could see three balls.
More water with it, Corby ;-)
Ahhhhh...

Yes - the cricket looks a lot worse than Sky's pictures (despite coming from the same cameras) - and that must be because the BBC economising on bandwidth somewhere.
Never mind the picture quality, the commentator (don't know who) just said "Golovin is a little Siberian with the gift to defrost the iciest of defences".

Sip.
